Shore tank corrections
This module helps with common shore tank corrections used during volume measurement.
Current calculators include:
- CTSh: shell correction factor (thermal expansion of the tank shell).
- FRC: floating roof correction (displacement effect of a floating roof).
CTSh (Shell correction factor)
CTSh is a multiplicative factor that adjusts a tank volume for shell temperature effects.
You provide temperatures and a material coefficient, and the calculator returns CTSh.
How to use
- Enter upper/middle/lower product temperatures (or the values required by your workflow).
- If the tank is not insulated, also provide ambient temperature.
- Enter the tank reference/calibration temperature and the linear coefficient.
- Calculate to get CTSh.
FRC (Floating roof correction)
FRC estimates the volume displaced by a floating roof based on roof weight, density and
temperature. It is displayed as an amount to apply per your reporting workflow.
How to use
- Enter floating roof weight.
- Enter density at 15°C in vacuum and the observed temperature.
- Calculate to get FRC.
Notes
- All inputs must be numeric; empty/invalid fields will prevent a meaningful result.
- FRC depends on CTL/VCF behaviour; you should treat it as a calculation aid (not a certification tool).
